"I Think My SEO is in a Good Place"

That's great! Hopefully you're correct and your SEO is in a good place... for now. That's the thing with SEO. It isn't static. We can't just set it and forget it. There's always another shopping holiday around the corner and it's important to be constantly adjusting for season AND shopper trends. Shopper trends are accounted for in keyword research.

So yes, your SEO might be in a good place right now. You should remain vigilant about that though. Most of our customers use Marmalead at least once a week (if not daily) to stay on top of keywords.

Maybe you're thinking that you'll come back when you list more items. Consider listing items more frequently. At least once a week for example. This gives you a chance to keep in touch with past customers about the new items you keep adding. This also gives you a better idea of which items are working and which aren't before dropping a whole new catalog.

Do you still have the best keywords?

The only thing constant in the marketplace is constant change. One of the most impactful things you can do is to make sure your keywords are still the best for your shop. Get in a routine of checking this and you'll be glad you did. Some shops don't notice something is wrong until it's going bad fast. A routine makes sure you catch changes early and often.

What does this routine look like?

Set a recurring event on your todo list, your calendar, or write it in a paper planner. Just make sure you remind yourself to come back to check on the keyword landscape.

You can start in Keyword Storm. It's a great way to keep fresh ideas coming your way and you might even see something that turns into a new product idea.

Then you can take your Storm keywords and even your existing keywords to Keyword Comparison where you'll do a high level check on them.
