Marmalead LLC (“Marmalead,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Etsy research, SEO tools, and coaching through Marmalead.com and the Marma browser extension. This policy explains what information these services handle, why we use it, and the choices you have.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to Marmalead.com, the Marma browser extension, and other Marmalead products and services that link to it. We refer to them together as the “Services.”

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: your name, email address, login information, and account preferences.
  • Billing information: subscription and transaction details. Payment-card information is handled by our payment processor; Marmalead does not store full payment-card numbers.
  • Communications: messages you send to support, survey responses, feedback, and content you intentionally post in a public Marmalead community.
  • Marma conversations: questions, instructions, and other content you send to Marma for coaching.

Information collected when you use Marmalead.com

We collect ordinary service and usage information such as IP address, browser and operating-system details, approximate location derived from IP address, referring pages, timestamps, features used, and cookie or similar identifiers. We use this information to operate, secure, understand, and improve the Services.

When you connect an Etsy shop to your Marmalead account, Etsy provides an authorization token rather than your Etsy password. Depending on the feature you use, we may receive your Etsy shop ID, shop name, listings, and shop or listing performance information.

Information handled by the Marma browser extension

Marma’s extension data features remain off until you choose Agree & Continue in the extension. If you choose Not now, Marma stays off and the extension does not collect Etsy or Pinterest page data.

After you agree, Marma may handle:

  • your Marma questions and the relevant URL and page content needed to answer them;
  • information from Etsy pages you use with Marma, including listing details, your Etsy shop ID, and available shop and listing performance metrics;
  • visible Pinterest page and pin information when you use Pinterest with Marma for coaching or trend research;
  • keywords, request timing and status, and the complete result and chart data returned by Etsy Marketplace Insights searches you run;
  • additional keyword and chart results when Marma refreshes keyword research automatically through your signed-in Etsy browser session;
  • Shop Stats information when Marma, at most once per UTC day and while an Etsy tab is already open, briefly opens your Shop Stats page in an inactive tab, reads the available metrics, and closes the tab it opened; and
  • an extension installation ID, extension version, Etsy Plus status, and a twice-daily signed-in activity signal used to keep the service reliable.

To make same-origin Etsy requests, the extension temporarily stores Etsy page fields such as a CSRF token and page GUID on your device. Marmalead does not receive those fields, your Etsy password, or your Etsy authentication cookies.

Extension data is sent over HTTPS to Marmalead and to Marmalead’s Northpath collector gateway hosted on Cloudflare. The gateway durably records raw keyword and chart responses before they are processed into research metrics, so a temporary processing failure does not lose the evidence.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, personalize, and support Marmalead research and Marma coaching;
  • authenticate accounts, maintain subscriptions, and keep the extension connected;
  • analyze Etsy listings, keywords, market activity, and shop performance;
  • operate automatic keyword refreshes and the daily Shop Stats refresh after consent;
  • improve keyword research and coaching for Marmalead members;
  • monitor reliability, investigate errors, prevent abuse, and protect the Services; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use extension data for creditworthiness, lending, or a purpose unrelated to Marmalead’s Etsy research and coaching services.

Private shop data and shared research

Your account identity, shop performance, listing performance, and Marma conversation are private to your account. We do not show that private information to other sellers.

Keyword results contributed by participating sellers may be combined with other marketplace evidence and used to improve aggregated Marmalead research, keyword metrics, and coaching for Marmalead members. Other sellers receive the resulting research, not your identity, private conversation, or private shop performance.

We may also use or share information that has been aggregated or reasonably de-identified so it cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

When we share information

We share information only as needed for the following purposes:

  • Service providers: companies that provide cloud hosting, databases, content delivery, artificial-intelligence processing, analytics, customer support, email, payment processing, and security services. They may process information only to provide services to Marmalead under appropriate privacy and security obligations.
  • Legal and safety needs: when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Marmalead, or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats, or other harm.
  • Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or notice of a replacement policy.
  • At your direction: when you ask us to share information or otherwise give us consent.

Public comments or community posts are visible to the audience you choose and may be indexed by search engines.

Retention and deletion

We keep information only while we have a legitimate business, operational, or legal reason to retain it.

  • Collector request and rate-limit telemetry is automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • An inactive Marma collector installation record is automatically removed after it has had no valid credential for at least 7 days.
  • Account records, private shop information, conversations, page context, and support records are retained while needed to provide or support the Services, until you request deletion, or as required for security, dispute resolution, accounting, or law.
  • Raw keyword and chart evidence and the research derived from it may be retained for as long as it remains useful to Marmalead’s research service. If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify account-linked raw and private information that we can reasonably associate with your account, except where retention is required for security, legal, or financial records. Research that was already aggregated or de-identified may remain because it is no longer reasonably linked to you.

To request access, correction, or deletion, email success@marmalead.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. Uninstalling Marma stops future extension collection but does not by itself delete information already held by Marmalead.

Your choices

  • You may decline Marma’s extension disclosure; the extension remains off.
  • You may uninstall the extension at any time to stop future extension collection.
  • You may disconnect your Etsy shop through Marmalead or Etsy.
  • You may control cookies through your browser, although blocking required cookies may prevent parts of the Services from working.
  • You may opt out of promotional email using the link in the message. We may still send account, billing, security, or legal notices.
  • You may contact success@marmalead.com to exercise privacy rights available in your location.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS in transit, restricted access, and service-role controls around private collector data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.

International use

Marmalead is based in the United States. If you use the Services from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your home country.

Children

The Services are intended for people who can operate an Etsy seller account and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised date on this page and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how we handle personal information. A material change to Marma’s extension data practices also requires a new in-extension consent decision before the changed collection begins.
